Default 2002 ford Mustang Electrical Problem

My 2002 Ford Mustang Convert was involved in a minor accident and we drivers side mirror was knocked off, and was left just hanging there by the wire. We cut the wire then put the mirror back on after making a few physical changes to make sure it wouldn't fall off. We had to tie the wires back together, my question is now the car's interiors lights stay on did we do something when we took off the door panel to get the mirror back on or did we cross a wire? Any ideas would be great.

the door switch sounds like it's broken. The one that turns on the light when you open the door.

Yea it does not have anything to do with the mirror... my guess is that it is the door switch is broken or not connecting right... when you took the door panel you may have unplugged the wire...

How would I go about testing this, this is located on the outter part of the door right. I see the place it rests (on the car) and then I see the device that is pushed in when it makes contact with the actual car to indicate the door is shut.

Well since its eletrical... you could just get a volt meter and first make sure that the wires have power going to them... then press the button and check agian... just make sure you check the wires located after the button...
