Default about to purchase some springs

hey guys, i am about to purchase some springs for my car because i want to lower it, but i was wondering if besides that there is anything else that I need to buy.

hey...i went to a work shop to get my car lowered..the guy there said that it would be cheaper if i do either one of these..as it will be same at lower cost

1: Heat my existing springs and squeeze them to make it lower OR
2: Cut the spring to make it lower rather then buying a new spring set all together.

I thought that i should ask you guys first before doing anything..what should i do? what will be the effect on my car if i choose anyone of them????

#1 has some serious safety issues

#2 will ruin your ride quality and handling.

re 1st question.

#1 how important is handling? If you lower the car you "should" pick up some extended ball joints like the Steeda X2s, also change the end links so that they're parrallel.

#2 for longer shock life you "should" swap to the shorter 87-93 shocks and struts.
