Default Got a service engine light

My car is almost at 60,000 miles and the service engine light came on. So i was wondering if thats normal for the light to come on at that time or should i take it in for an inspection? money is tight right now being that the university just started and im paying for it out of pocket.

if the car runs fine could be an O2 Sensor or dirty MAF Sensor. can prolly take it to autozone for a free computer reading for a code, then look the code up or if their machine will tell you what the code means itself. Solve your problem relatively inexpensively.

Was gonna take my car in to have a look at the code, and all of a sudden, the light went out. Oh well. Car seems to run fine still.

the lord works in mysterious ways!

or maybe the lord burnt out your CEL light bulb.

prolly could be a dirty sensor somewhere. correct me if im wrong but the computer will still save old codes that came and gone, if you still want to persue what happened, get it checked and make sure it wasn't something stupid like 'engine running too lean' or something.(well that's not really stupid) but just for security. haha.

But sounds like your case solved out nicely I wish my CELs would turn off problem free!!!

good luck man
