Default 3.73 rear gears...

I found a nice set of 3.73's, the only catch is that they are used, and were previously in a car with an automatic transmission...would this be bad for my car if I have a manual transmission? Thanks

The fact that they were in an auto has no effect on anythign. The fact that they are useed is what hurts. If they can't set them back up into the proper wear pattern already established, you will reduce the life expectancy of the gear and quite possibly get more whine. Though, being behind a V6, unless you do somethign wild to the motor you should never be able to blwo them up.

If they were broken in correctly, and don't have chipped teeth, they should be fine.

The fact they're used is sometimes better, as you don't have to worry about break in.

Try to find out how many miles are on them.

Could be out of a 20 year old Ranger, or something.
