Default Issues while starting

Hi. I have recently recived a nice 1994 Mustang, but i have had a little trouble getting it to start up nicely. I know it's old, but I don't like to have it sit there for a few seconds and not crank. Once it does crank though, the engine runs great. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

could be a clogged fuel pump or line, or bad air flow sensor. ( I feel like i bring up the MAF too much i think it causes a lot of problems for the mustang, MAYBE ALL! jk :P)

how's the power though, you feel like it gets up in the MPH relatively easy or you really have to put the pedal to the floor?

and do you hear any engine ping at all?

Also new Sparkplugs? any misfiring?

if it's a used car you just bought i'd liek to take the precaution of giving it an oil change, tighten that drivetrain, change plugs, check the suspension , tires, normal wear and tear, clean out filters etc, get that pony up and running to the best potential

Awsome. Thank you for all the advice. I'm new to all this ( If you couldn't tell) LoL. As for the Power, it picks up great. Really easy on the pedal. No misfirings, but what is engine ping? i hear some clacking when accelerating, but it seems normal. Is that what you mean? Also, is there a decently priced suspenion kit or peices that you perfer? I know it needs at least new shocks and springs (or so my rear end tells me). Thank you for all the help.

haha np, i hear ya on the rear

Yeah ping is like a sound you'll hear from your engine bay or near your cats, like knock sound, means bad gas try running a higher grade after you gas guage goes near empty and wash all that crap gas out(just fill up the tank with 93 octane, should clean out whatever bad gas is in there), but also could be the fuel filter still.

I think there is a bullit suspension kit that comes with new shocks and struts, and front and rear stabalizing bars and springs.

I lost all my bookmarks can only remember the one damn site, good thing it has like everything for a reasonable price. there are cheaper ones on there

I think stangsuspension sells one for 420ish

but the thing about a mustang's sport suspension is it's a bumpy ride no matter what, live rear axel, struts and such are tight to keep the car from bouncing off the ground, not really smooth like a luxury car would be. but still gotta love the car for what she is.

Don't forget battery/starter solenoid -either bad or corrosion . . .

Default Mine wouldnt start either

I have a 95 GT that was hard to start. Did all the usual new plugs, wires, cap&rotor, battery nothing helped. It ended up being the pick up coil on the distributor. Distro has to be pulled to replace. If you are not experienced removing distro and setting timing, pay the $ to have it done by a good mechanic.
