Default V6 Timing Cover Replacement

OK fellas, just replaced the oil pan seal, thinking that was what wuz leaking. What a pain, having to jack the enging up and all. Took all day.

Got it all back together and it started leaking again instantly, however it wasn't my new seal. I cleaned it all up really good w/ a jetwash in my drive, and let it dry. Jacked it up and started it, climbed underneath, and this is what I found. I believe it's the timing cover. It has about a 1 1/2 inch crack... Can you verify this for me from the pics??

1. Is there a way of temporarily sealing this crack to keep it from leaking for a while until I get time to change it?

2. What is the easiest way to change it, and are there any special tools needed?? Steps would be great on how to do it, I'm a novice on mustangs..

Thanks in advance..

Do you have a Chilton's or Haynes manual?

I have a crack in mine at about the same spot - mine might be the engine block itself, though, haven't checked carefully. Mine is leaking coolant. I'm not looking forward to the fix, as I believe it has to be welded from the inside.

Yes, a haynes.. and let me tell you they aren't the best or I wouldn't be hangin out in here...

I've bandaided for now w/ some RTV, holdin' up pretty good, if that let's loose, I'll JB weld it for a bit..

Still waiting for some simplier fix...

take it too a welding shop. Guys can weld that crack right up. Seen it done many times. Pretty sure they could do that while it's still on the car even
