Default Help with build-up and camshaft sensor

Hey.... well it has been awhile since Ive been on. School was out and worked over the summer to get a new car. so anyways I got one.
first things first. There something wrong with my camshaft sensor and my car idle weird as anyhting, it'll bouce around then just rest. So i was wandering if you guys could shed some light on that for me. Also with my new car i would like to have it built up a little so the current plan is as follows.
K&N
CAI
HEADERS
DUAL Exhaust (i currently can only find a H-pipe i'd like a xpipe)
lightweight K-member (if V6's can benefit)
lightweight driveshaft (ditto)
Lightweight rims (Same)
Eibach prokit or road race kit? (and will it make the car heavier and if it does will it be worth it?)
Diablo tune
short throw shift kit

thats where i want it, but i dont know if its worth it on a car with 77,000 miles on the odometer. Comments will be greatly appreciated, because I'm a first timer.

It's usually either your MAF that needs cleaning - especially with the mileage.

Other spots to look for is your fuel filter (usual suspect #2)

or your TPS (throttle position sensor).

What's your goal? without knowing what your goal is, it's tough to evaluate what you're planning.

X-pipes are available from Spintech or (and I'm not sure about this, ) may be Bassani? Could be Magnaflow.

Do you want to stick with the regular springs or coilovers?

If you'v egot a 99+ the k-member is the same as teh GTs. But any suspension work is useless unless you get subframe connectors.

oops... my bad I thought i put the year on my sig . But anywhos its a 99. So concerning the sensor... I took it to Autozone to get a diagnostic and they just told me the camshaft sensor is why your service engine soon light is on. I cleaned out the throttle body. So you think it might have something to do with the mass airflow or fuel filter? and as far as the goal for the car it is just to have the car breathe better and lose some weight. Nothing too major. Also i forgot to put a few yesterday, underdrivepulleys and tires. by the way thanks for the help, I forgot how friendly it was here.

If it's your camshaft sensor, your timing is off.

Thats is what i always thought too, then when i asked ppl they always told that thats not what it was. Do i have to take it apart and find top dead center or is there another way? What would you reccomend about the coilover vs regular springs? Also where do i get subframe connectors? Lastly, Is there anything else that you would reccomend on my car.... Gears? 3.72 or 4.10

Do a search on camshaft sensor in the V6 tech section, or pick up a haynes manual.

There was a question on it a couple of months ago.

I don't think you'd have to take it apart. I'd check out the sensor first -or have it checked out. could just be a contaminated connection.

Coilovers can require a lot of maintenance. How far do you want to go?

The other thing about coilovers is unless you get em from QA1, the warranty on the shocks and struts are void with the addition of coilovers. -So it can limit your choices.

The best thing about coilovers is that you can tune each corner individually, and you can free up a lot of weight. Also moving the spring out board improves suspension response.

But the joints that attach the shock/strut come under more stress, and the shock tower wasn't designed for it. It's why Kenny Brown's Strut Tower Brace has a plate that covers the tower entirely.

If it's going to be driven a lot in pothole country, you may want to stick with the original setup. If you live in the south, you can probably get away with a daily driven coilover setup.

QA1 has a control arm/k-member setup that will allow you to go either way, and will let you drop the weight from the stamped arms.

I've been thinking about what i want the car to be because when you asked i didnt know what to say. so here it goes. I would like to a daily driven trackable street car, with the power being around 250 at the belt and weighing 28XX or low 29XX. Thanks again for all the help.

Now that's pretty easy to cover!

What's your budget?

So that comes down to say $50-100/mo?

Ditch the headers and pick up an underdriver crank pulley and a manifold spacer.
