Question Help! Why would RPMs drop rapidly and cause engine to almost stall?

Hi guys! i have a problem with my 2000 v6 mustang. I was at a stop light, it turned green and i accelerated (pretty fast) quickly in first gear, my RPms went up when I accelerated, but then my rpms suddenly dropped down rapidly almost stalled, as i was about to shift. I depressed my clutch and my rpms returned back to normal.


This is not the first time this has happend. Does anyone know what can cause this?

Is your car equipped with traction control ?, if it is and you spin the tires it will pull gas and timing and will fall on it's face a second .

65,000 miles on it, how would i know if it i have traction control?

hey gt eater. u have over 450 hp?
do u have ported heads and cams

could i be my feul injectors,. i know i am due for an oil change do you think that has anything to do with it

you can do it yourself. Pick up a Haynes or Chiltons manual at an auto parts store.

Yes I had 487 RWHP , on a Vortech V2 and a 50 wet shot it made 427RWHP without the nitrous .I'm currently working out a new stroker engine and a bigger blower. Yes I have P&P heads and I had
relatively mild cam , again the new set up will be a lot more aggressive .
