I just put new heads on my 95 3.8 mustang. And its been about 300 miles running perfect....... Then yesturday i was drving and as it winds out to shift i could hear knocking........ So i drove it home and by the time i got home. ITS knocking hard at idle. and it like pings sometimes 2... I need any info on what this could be.. OR help 2 figure out whats wrong with it....

HMM knocking thats not good , if it sounds like it is coming from the bottom end it's probably a spun bearing .

Does it sound like a washing machine out of balance really bad? Who did the work on your heads? They may have gotten anti-freeze in your bottom end. It cooks the bearings.....

A loud knocking could be the crank shaft bearings broke, do you rev this car up a lot, sometimes passed redline?

about I thinka year after my heads busted, and I replaced my heads I got the same deal, when i woudl drive and the RPS got higher I heard a slight knocking, then one day I turned on my car and it was a loud knocking, culprit, broken crank shaft bearings :\.

No i never reved about redline. But when i was driving its automatic like at the top of the gear i would hear a knocking noise. Then like 15 min later i started my car back up and it was a horrible nocking sound.
SO THATS PROBLEY MY BEARINGS????

Unfortunately so......Do you have a local garage that can hear the sound? I had a 1970 Skylark that had that problem. I ran it hard until I blew a hole in the block. Pretty nasty stuff......
