Default Another Thunderbird to Mustang conversion question...

This was supposed to be in the tech section, but I think it got posted in the lounge too..Sorry everyone.. I know everyone has tackled this before, at least in question, but I have some cash and have decided to make my car all show, with one exception. I found through a source a complete engine to a V6 thunderbird, and just wanted to make sure of what I would need. I have already looked at and priced a set of forged rods and pistons, a new cam, underdrive pulleys, and air intake. Now that I have addded extra support I want to add the Thunderbird Eaton M90 supercharger. I have been told I can just transfer the intake and heads and this is relatively simple. I have talked to the people at Saleen about burning a custom chip and they said they can do it. So I just want to get any opinions or feedback possible. Has anyone out there done this? Anyone know the specific things that will need to be done? I have pretty much decided what I am going to do cosmetically, and the car looks great at least on my Mac, where I have done some photoshop work and figured out how it should turn out. Now I just need to get the blower on so that I will have just enough bite to go with my bark. I am not looking to get my stang into the 11's, I just want a nice 13 second car that looks great. Anyway, any feedback would be great. Thanks.

We have only "theory" so there is no straight answer to all your questions.

The TB-SC intake will definately bolt to the TB-SC heads, but most probably not to newer designs (99+) without some modifications.

You have to reduce compression ratio, so make sure the pistons you get are Tbrid SC "compatible".
This will at least insure SC to ENGINE compatibility.

The installation of intercooler, plumbing , etc is up to you.

you will need LARGE injectors, Tbirds used 32 pounders if i remember correctly, so go with 36 to be on the safe side.

Definately you will need a chip and larger fuel pump.

You might be able to get some extra help out of the TBRIDS SC sites.

They have some nice tips on how to make the Eaton flow better, but that involves opening it and porting some metal.

Definately you want to get a LATE-GEN M90 eaton, those were installed on 94-95 models. The 93 is also OK but stay away from 91-92 eatons, they had some bearing problems.

I definately plan to use a later model blower, and I am also using the stock heads and such. I know that it wont work with my heads and intake, so I plan on using the ones form the SC. I have tried talking to people on the SC boards, and they all just tell me to sell my car and get a Thunderbird.. It's kind of like when someone asks about changing a V6 to a V8. It's hard to get a real answer.. But thanks for all your help man, if there is anything else you think of please let me know. I hope to be posting some pics soon.

I was thinking of dumping the AOD for a C4. Any ideas on how difficult or costly this would be to do? I know it's cheaper than a five speed, and I like having an auto. Also, for the '99 up models, didn't the V6 cars finally get the 8.8 rear axle? I thought they did, but I wasn't sure. I wanted to know because I am looking at a set of 3:73's and 4:10's
