Default 2000 3.8l in a 1994 3.8l

was just wondering if a 2000 mustang 3.8l engine will drop right in a 1994 3.8l or will their be other problems seeing the 2000 engine is split port? Thanks

If it is an early 2000 ( externally balanced ) it will not have IMRC's and you are golden ,if it's a late 2000 it will have an internally balanced engine ,that will take more work and parts

I am in the middle of a similar process. I just dropeed a 3.8 w/automatic trany into a '97 body that had also a 3.8 w/auto trany. the engine is running great but i have problems with the trany. There is a difference between the wiring from the
'98 harness into that one of the '97. The '98 harness that comes from the trany has a bigger black conector with seven wires while the '97 body has a small white connector with four wires that belong to the O2 sensors. This connections is located on the passanger's side right under the hood. The additional thrree wires from the '98 loom come from the trany range sensor. For now, I am trying to find if somebody has the trany control wiring diagram to share or if someone has gone through a similar experience. Thank you.
