What size tank comes standard on the 2002 Mustang? When the fuel guage reaches empty I am only able to put about 12 gallons in the tank to top it off.

it's around 14.6 gallons, I think. There's a reserve in the tank.

Then it wasn't empty, when I had a gas tank it would hold 13.+ gallons when it got very empty .

My 2002 V6 Mustang owner's manual says 15.7 gallon fuel tank capacity. I've ran mine where the needle is almost past the E and it held almost 14 gallons on fill-up; guess it has quite a reserve. Let me know if you need any other fluid capacity info from the manual.

Yeah, just be careful not to run it down too far, you can get alot of crap sucked into the fuel filter......
