Default Power door lock/ball joint

Hey all. I own a 95 v6 that the power door lock switch only works to unlock the car...wont lock..the right side works fine...do i need a new switch or the whole thing?? Also, my suspension is making a BAD noise in the front left side...sounds like it could be a ball joint? Creaking cracking noise that is getting worse as time progresses..any thoughts/?? PLEASE HELP!!

Welcome to AFM Tammy. First things first, try chrecking the connections on your door switch. Just pop up the door cup gently and see if all the wires under the switch are still making contact and are not frayed/burnt/loose. As far as the front end, you can jack up the car and shake the wheel in question. Some people also use a pry bar just under the tire and lift it to see if anything shakes. It may be a ball joint. It could also be a broken swaybar bushing-you just never know.

Hi,

I saw your post. I'm having the same problem with my '94 V6. Sometimes the drivers side switch locks and sometimes it doesn't; I haven't noticed a problem trying to unlock. The passenger side switch has no problems. I have an aftermarket keyless entry that automatically locks/unlocks the doors upon starting/turning off the car, but have never had any problems with it locking/unlocking. I was just curious to see what you found before I start taking mine apart.
