Default Connector for Code reader mustang 2001

Hi, I am glad to be part of the Mustang Forum.
It's my first Mustang I have a 2001 V6 convertible that was running very good .....until now
I would like to check the code but I can't find the darn connector.
Chevy and Dodge are under the driver dashbord but I can't seem to find the connector in the Mustang.
My car idles ok but when I press the accelerator it rattle before reaching the speed when I drive it runs ok but when I try to pass it rattle.
There are no code light on.
Would someone tell me where to find that connector.
Anyone has any idea of what my problem can be

Thanks

AJ

Under the dash by the gas pedal just between where the console comes down, and the floor starts.

Upon reading your problem further on, if you don't have a CEL on, it won't tell you what's wrong by hooking it up to the reader.

Is the rattle from the exhaust? I know the heat shield on the cats are notorious for that. It sounds like the exhaust. Can you pinpoint where the noise is coming from?

OK, Thanks I found the connector.
My wife came back from the store and told me the service light was on...
I was so happy, now I have to fix the problem.... I have a code P0303 (misfired cyl 3 it's the one closest to the firewall passenger side)
So I have changed the spark plugs runs a little better but didn't fix the problem.
Tomorow I will replace the wire set hopefully it will fix the problem..$54.00
If not I guess I'll have to replace the coil pack... $74.00 If it's not the problem I think it's gonna cost big bucks.
If anyone has any more ideas they are more than WELCOME...

Thank

I would say to pull the plug to see if it can tell you anything. It could also be a clogged injector. If you're still having problems with it, get the injectors cleaned at Midas. They use a 3 step cleaning system that works really well. Make sure you watch them do it......
