Default moderately cheap upgrades for a 99

ok, well my '99 has about 80k on it and is still running pretty well, i've got a k+n fipk gen 2 and i'm looking for other upgrades. right now i'm looking at an edelbrock 80-shot nitrous system, or if the money comes in a full borla cat-back system.
i've also heard that switching from efi to carbureator can give more power, but just didnt know if it was worth it.
and the last thing, i've been getting a kind of rattling coming from the passenger side, so i had the manifold replaced, but it still rattles...any ideas?

What type of rattle? At idle, cruising, etc.? As far as nitrous, I'm not too familiar with the systems, but why would you want to go back to a carb? They are inefficient compared to efi. A dual exhaust setup would help the top end.

No, a carb won't give you more power than a properly set up FI system.

you may have rocks in your cat cages.

yeh the rattle comes when idle and then once i get above about 2500-3000 revs, and thanks about the carb info i'd just heard they helped, but nevermind

I had problems with my cats' shield rattling. Get under there to see if they are loose. They can be yanked off if needed without problems. At least you'll never have to worry about it. It's pretty embarrassing to be sitting at a light with an exhaust rattle.
