Default stereo placement

as I was sittin in traffic the other day, I kept staring at my stereo. I have a 2000 Mustang, and as you all know the cd player and the cassette player are two different units. So I started wondering if it was possible to make some re-arrangements on that section. Moving the A/C control down to where the cd player is, move the cassette player up to where the A/C control is, and move up the cd player to where the cassette player is....I think it would look much better, but I am curious about wiring, and if i the units would fit where i want to place them? Has anyone who has this type of stereo tried this?

I'm not sure if it will fit as you're requesting. I have the Mach system, so I'm not quite familiar with your setup. I would say to take off the trim pieces and look behind it to see if the spacing is the same. I don't think you can, but try it and let us know how you make out. Most get a double-din head unit to replace the stocky.
