well i just changed the fuel filter less then a couple weeks ago because i was getting misfire codes P0304, P0305, P0306 and i was also getting P0402!! i changed the spark plugs, coil pack, wires, air filter, DPFE EGR sensor, fuel filterr, air filter!! and i no longer get any error codes and my car runs better then it did when i was getting those codes besides the problem i mentioned in the last post i made!!! could i still be getting misfiring or could the fuel pump have gone bad and is causing the problem?? my egr valve seems to be working properly i did a vacuum test on the egr system and all tests checked out to be fine and working correctly!!! what do u guys think???

Is the MAF sensor level? They need to be level in order to work properly. I really don't think it would be your fuel pump.

no, no, no -you have to use electrical/computer contact cleaner. You may have fried the sensor.

Brake cleaner leaves a residue, and is very, very aggressive. It can strip paint, so the plastic surrounding the sensor & wire insulation may be stripped.

try picking up another MAF from a salvage yard. spray it with COMPUTER contact cleaner, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, hook it up, and reconnect the battery.

If it works, you're done.

You didn't spray your IAC with that stuff did you?

Ah hah!!!!! Someone once told me to use brake cleaner too, but I erred on the side of caution and used contact cleaner instead.

It would throw off all your air/fuel readings......

I'd shoot whoever told you to use brake cleaner - just pick up a used MAF they're going to be cheap -there are a ton of em in the salvage yards.

yeah, you'd be getting incorrect readings. so the fuel is not being pumped the way it should. You could be totally lean, and could blow your engine.
