Question 2000 Mustang Front Sway Bar Removal

So I have been reading in multiple websites people suggesting that you remove your front sway bar because you get better take off, and its some what lighter, and all these reasons. My concern is that they barely address the actual danger that it poses. To my understanding a sway bar prevents body roll, and I was wondering if anyone has done it, and what are the real dangers that it poses.
I dont make sharp turns, but I drive long distances on the freeway somewhat frequent.
Has any of you guys that have done it experienced any close calls?

DON'T DO IT!!!!!

If you're at the track, just disconnect one of the end links.

don't want anyone killed frm bad advice.

My cousin tried that, and hit a telephone pole. Your ability to execute emergency manuevers will be greatly compromised by disconnecting the front bar .. .
