If it's a TSB replacement, Ford pays the dealer, you pay nothing .. .

Just found out both mani's are cracked on my 00'. Noise wasnt too bad I'm surprised.... Has anyone had a dealer replace theres. Is there a TSB # associated with the Manifold problem. Dealers suck near me, so I need to have all the ammunition together before going there. Or they will try to give me $1000 bill.

I told them about the TSB, and they said that "its only for mechanics to help them identify problems" They went on to say that Ford will not fix anything for free on my car that is not a formal RECALL. I told them to shove it, and I will try another dealer. Can I call ford directly and inquire about this? Both my manifolds are shot (cracked), and I have to get the car inspected soon.

Ask for the regional rep's number.
It really depends on the dealer, to some extent. If you bought the car from the dealer, it's cheaper for them in the long run to replace them for free. If your dealer is shortsighted, call the regional rep, and find a more responsive dealer.

If the service manager "determines" you're not a likely customer, he won't do anything for you, but Ford Motor company likely will -so get the regional rep's number.
