I have a problem with my CAI in my 3.9L. Most of the intakes out there have space for two plug-ins, while my car only has one plug-ins. I dont understand! I bought a CAI and I can't install it because of this. You guys have any thoughts/comments?

Are you telling us that you have the MAF and AIT sensor separately? You need 2 holes on your intake tube?

are you sure you didnt buy one for a 4.6L?
because their intakes have 2 spaces instead of 1.
No no no. My original intake has only one hole for a connector. I suppose it means my MAF and AIT sensor are one thing, but when I got the intake I ordered it had two holes for connectors and the Installation video had two holes for the MAF and AIT. Are your guy's MAF and AIT's combined into one as well? How do your CAI's work then?

my MAF and (IAT) are two seperate connectors.
you shouldnt have a hole for your MAF. you should only have a hole for your IAT.
You summed it up right there. Thats the reason its hard to find an intake for the 3.9L because in the 3.8's you have an MAF slot and an IAT slot. Most of the intakes don't come with plugs which is why I was so confused. I'm sure if i got a plug for the MAF slot all the intakes would work just fine. Since I figured it out, do you still want a picture?
Thanks for the help guys!

i see...
so on the 3.9L the IAT and the MAF are built into each other?
yeah it seems you could just block off the extra hole for the IAT, then.
you can post a picture if you want just to be sure, but i think you have it figured it out.
Yea as you can see in the attached picture, there is only one electrical connection, which I will assume is both the IAT and MAF combined? Anyone have any different input? If not, we got this figured out, go team!

Yea I had a chat with a BBK guy who told me all that stuff. I worked with the company that sold me my intake and they are sending me a plug for my intake. It was only like $75.00 dollars and now i'm looking for a different one anyway. xD
Thanks for the help guys! I never doubted you.

I just installed a MAC Mass Air System for my 2004 3.9L V6 and it only had one hole. Works great. Spent about $290. Had to mod the chrome guard a little but no biggy.
