Default 2000 3.8 V6 Fuel Rail Pressure and injector specs

Folks,

It took me a lot of time and effort to actually find and be permitted to read an 'official' Ford manual for a 2000 3.8 V6. I thought I'd share this will y'all and save a few poor soals a lot of time.

1) The 'official' manual states the rail pressure for a non-return system is 35psi with just the key on.

2) The fuel 'system' hold pressure should be 30-40 psi after 5 minutes.

3) The fuel pump pressure should not exceed 65 psi.

4) The 'fuel pump' hold pressure should be 50 psi

5) Injector resistance should be 13.5 to 19 ohms.

Enjoy

I went to a dealer 'other' than the one I bought the car from. The shop floorman is a friend of a friend...wink,wink. It's amzing what you can get by networking a bit.

You can get it in the shop manual, they cost a ton of money, but you can usually get them in the reference section of your local public library . ..

They come in discs, now, so maybe if you took a laptop with a CD burner . . .

Not that i would recommend copying copyrighted material -I would never do that!

Excellent point about the library. I'm gonna check that out tonight. Our library is across the street and we have an on-line account.

lol... I too would 'never' infringe on copywritten material. I do have a DVD/CD burner here with a 'lot' of miles on it
