Default 1999 Mustang Throttle Cable Replacement

Hi,

I have a 99 v6 mustang. The throttle is very hard on my mustang which makes the car feel sluggish.

Is is possible to oil/lube the cable to make it smooth?

I also search on net to find a new throttle cable and found some loker cables. Do these cable fit a stock v6 mustang.

I am pretty new with mustang's and don't know much about cars. Is it possible to replace the cable myself?

I would be very thankful if someone could help me.

I would highly appreciate if someone could provide me link to buy throttle cable.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Spooler

It's probably not the cable (unless the car has been underwater) - you should try to lubricate the linkage.

how long has it been sitting?

Thanks for the reply.

The car was sitting for about an year earlier but is being driven everyday for the past 6 months(with hard cable)

I tried wd40 on the linkage but does not seem to do any good. Is there any other lubricant I should try.

Thanks

Take the air intake off the throttlebody and look for carbon buildup.
