Default 2000 power windows not working

Hello!
My power windows doesnt work anymore.
They work only if i open my door. As soon as the light opens up...the windows works (same for the power mirrors).
I opened up the panel of the door with the buttons and everything seems all right. Fuses are good too....

Where is the door contact ? It seems to be related. The door buzzer and light on the roof start a bit farther away than usual.
Help!!!

It sounds like its grounding out as soon as you shut the door... i would check the wires... get a voltage tester...you should be able to track it down...

Try to disconnect all related wires from the power lock, side mirrors, and windows; then plug all back in (both side of the doors). One side loosing wire connector may cause the problem to the orther side.

a good ground will read 0 ohms or act as a short as long as there isnt any other things like resistors or something the the circuitry. if your lock or window or whatever goes directly to a ground then it should read 0 ohms.

It sounds like you're crushing the harness going to the door and it's shorting out. Check it when the door is open to see if you can find some bare wires.

it should be an easy fix.... at least it works with the door open... so you know that it has to do with the wiring...

I doubt it's a wire shorting out, if it was the fuse would blow. My guess is a broken wire. Most likely it will look fine but be broke inside the insulation. You will need a volt / ohm meter to tell which one and where.

well if the wire was broken... then it would not work with the door open...

I have run into wires that break and when flexed right they make connection again but when bent again nothing.

that is a possibility also... I would say that it has to be shorting out or that... it should not be a hard fix..

Wooohouuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!! I made it !!!
You guys were alright. It was a cutted wire... touching only when door the door was opened..... i had a hard time fixing it though...it was just in the middle of the door and the side panel of the car...not too much wire to reconnect....hop it will last a few days...
Thanks guys!!!!!
