Default Charging System Light on 2002 Mustang V6 Convertible

Hi. I have a question. I recently acquired a 2002 Mustang V6 Convertible. I love the car so far, but have already had an issue with the 6 disk CD changer. I had 3 disks in, and none of them would eject. I read that I could disconnect the battery, then reattach and the changer would eject the disks...It did work for 2 out of the 3, but now the whole system says that it's full, as in has no open slots.

I noticed the other day, when I brake at higher speeds, like on the freeway, the Charging System light comes on on the control panel. It doesn't remain on, however, I wonder if I did something wrong when I reconnected the battery.

Any help on either of these would be appreciated.

Default CD/battery

As for the CD problem, I encountered something similar when my daughter shoved a DVD in there and it got stuck. I had to repeatedly do the battery disconnect routine before it would cough it up.

And yes, it sounds like your battery is moving around. There is a clamp and bolt that hold it down - if you failed to get it clamped down properly, and if the terminals are loose or dirty, this would make the warning light flash on.

Best of luck.

Thanks, Tripleblack...I'll give it another shot when I get home later.

And for the other question...yes, it is a factory 6-disk changer.

If it turns out the 6-disk is bad I have one just sitting on the shelf
