Default 1998 Mustang V6 3.8 Transmission

Hello, I'm about to purchase gears for my car, and I know nothing about my transmission or gears. So I am going to resort to you guys, I want BBK, but I'm not sure these will fit. By the way, its 5 speed.

Ford M4209G410A 4.10 Ring and Pinion Gears for 8.8 Ford Live Axle - M4209G410A Ford Racing

Will that fit my car?

Yeah my synchronisers went out in it the other day, so I figure while its getting worked on, I'll drop gears into it.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Edit: anyone know how long the shop will have my car installing gears / syncs? just a estimate?

first off, you have a 7.5" rearend, not a 8.8"

Secondly, the ring and pinion gears are found in the rear differential, not the transmission.

Thirdly, you have a T-5.

contact Art @ www.artsperformanceparts.com

He'll set you up with a good price on gears and everything else you will need. BTW, the prices on his website are just the retail prices, you need to call or email for the price.

I went here for my stuff. All things drivetrain, rearend anything you need, they'll have it. Gears, diffs. axles, bearing kits.

My T-lok and gear swap was about $400. It's a tough job. And take it to a place that *only* and I stress *only* does drivetrains and tranmissions becuase it's a very specialized install. Trust me on this one. I took it to an all-around mechanic and I had whining gears for about 2 years. then I switched out to a T-lok and took it to a drivetrain shop and it was quiet. not a sound...and that was with the same gears.
