Default ZMAX Snake oil or Good deal?

Is this stuff at all any good? Does it really do anything? How could you tell one way or the other?

I wonder about this myself. But I stick by this, if you use good quality oil and change it often there is no really a need for additives. Actually I received a service bulletin from Honda ( since I work for an Acura dealer) regarding the use of additives. They state while it doesn't do any harm to your engine, it also dosn't really benefit as well. Just stick with a good oil and change it regularly, as I just mentioned before.

They go on to say that this also applies to any additives for all of the systems involved, be it fuel, oil, transmission etc,,,

The only advantage I can see is for high mileage engines that could use some help. For example STP oil treatment for maintaining some oil pressure.

I put it in and I like it havent check fuel mileage or anything they claim.. but it revs a lil smoother. I did need their fuel injector cleaner so no suprise there... but its $30 at autozone here plus a 20% discount.. ill use it again. as for additives I also use a can of engine restore...

I'll use lucas when it gets up there in miles

Stay away from this **** like the plague. It has no linkite like they claim. All it is is mineral oil and it has been proven that its addition to a motor cause excessive bearing wear. This is the biggest scam going and they are being sued as we speak. There is a huge post on it at TCCOA.

Here is the thread

No problem bro. I don't want to see anyone get burned by a scam.

The sad thing is, that if it actually had linkite in it, it might do what it is supposed to.

The only additives I use are Lucas, Marvel Mystery Oil, and Restore.

I use them for my Thunderbird, but never together!

The Lucas is really just heavier oil, Marvel basically cleans the motor out, and Restore is like a liquid ring job.

I don't ever use anything that looks thinner than the oil I'm using unless it's been recommended by a trusted friend.

I have seen Marvel work wonders! The funny part is that it has been around forever, and it costs a tiny fraction of any other additives.
