Default Any one got info on stroker kits

Hey i just got done reading stanger98's post about his new 4.2L stroker kit and i got some questions of my own. Are all of the parts made for the 2001 3.8l still functional after you put in the stroker kit(intake manifold,heads,s/c,cam,bolt-ons,ect.? Is the 4.2l kit the best choice out of the 4.0l-4.4l selection? And what in the kit gives the car that high torque(the new crank)?

Everything will still be functional, but, it's recommended while you have the engine apart to replace the heads, camshaft, etc. Just for the sake of already having the engine apart.

The 4.2L is the best out of the 4.0-4.4 because it perfectly center's itself as giving the most horsepower without having the cylinder walls being to weak.

4.0 and 4.1 are kind of a waste hp wise, but, it still does strengthen the motor up. 4.3+ will just weaken the cylinder walls which could lead to a catastrophic failure. I'm not 100% sure, of what gave me the more power and torque, that would be Mark Wondi's field.

4.2 would be the best choice of those options, and to explain the extra power...displacement = power.

Now if you are to restricted on the intake side then you wont see nearly as mush power from stroking the motor. Also stroker kits are good for boost, stronger bottom end means more boost.
