King county? Thats Seattle isn't it? Gotta be a dozen or more places in a city that size. Look in your yellow pages and make a list. What you really want to know is of the places on your list, who is dependable and who isn't. I would go by each of the prospective engine rebuilders and look at their operation. Is the shop clean, well organized and is there work going on? Its kind of like picking a restaurant...if there's lots of cars in front chances are its a pretty good place. If not, then forget it unless you get a highly favorable recommendation from a trusted friend.
Some more advice...you get what you pay for. Most good engine shops will charge $1,500 or more. If you want high performance, expect this to jump to $3,000 or more. If someone offers you a great deal at $1,200 be suspicious. Parts are expensive and labor is too. There are no FREE lunches! |
