Mustangs Across America Knotts Fab Fords Drive Update!

ONE LAST BUMP!

We have 35 cars signed up to go on this convoy drive from Northern California to Knotts! It is going to be a good sized group for a fun drive. We are goaling for 50 cars!

We have people coming from Nevada, Alabama, and Oregon to participate in the Drive. The guy from Huntsville is flying out and renting a Mustang for the event!

We have equipped the pace-car with a GPS reciever to update in real-time the mapping software on a laptop. We will be offering up virtual information and updates on our location every ten minutes. Okay - its a useless toy, but we are into gadgets!

Anyway, the drive and the many GTG activities we working with the guys here at AFM on for the weekend in Knotts looks to be a blast. Cant wait to meet everybody!!!!!!

Which way are you guys comming ??
I-5 totally sucks for view. Maybe the costal route ??

We are taking the I-5 route as it is the best for logistics, providing our Bay Area peeps rendezvous access, and is quickest for traffic and stops.

Luckily in April it is ultra green!

Hmmmm
You might consider this:
If your comming down the I-5, at Los Banos, take the Pacheco Pass Hwy (152) west to Hollister. Then take the 156 west to the 101. Its a lot nicer then going down I-5. It will really turn nice down around San Luis Obispo, when you start to follow the coast. Sure it will take about 2 hours longer, but its worth it. BTW, 101 is now 65mph and you can usually cruise at 70.
Also, the people that are going to join you from the Bay Area could just head south on the 101 and catch you at Salinas.

I really like this route, as I have been up and down this great state more times then I care to remember. I was born in the Bay Area, and live in Nor Cal most of my life before moving to So Cal.

We have about 8-10 cars meeting in San Jose at Blossom Hill Park-N-Ride at Hwy 85 to take the 152 over to I-5. The rendezvous point on I-5 is the rest-area just south of Santa Nella / Los Banos about 9:45 am Friday.
