That'll be a nice ride. It won't be much of a "cruise", I think. I did the exact route from the intersection at Belmont Park, through Mission and Pacific Beaches, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, on up Hwy 101 to Carlsbad; then on to Hwy 78 and to I-15.
To me, a "cruise" involves loping along a country road, zooming some curves, making an occasional photo opportunity stop. I don't mean to discourage anyone, but ...
Hwy 101 is the main commercial street through a half-dozen little beach towns. Stop signs or traffic lights at every intersection. All the Weekday Workers trying to get their business done on Saturday, parking and waiting for parking places.
My tour through there was on a Saturday in Summer. It might be different on December 6th, but while I enjoyed the drive in my automatic V6 with the top down, and received many thumbs-ups and admiring glances, I can't imagine what a chore it would be in a manual shift car.
I'm certain to be there, though. Might even test the stamina of my clutch leg, manual-shifting my way through Solana Beach, Encinitas, etc, etc.
great. it will probably still be nice and sunny though (even in winter ) since its San Diego.
We will probably be meeting at the largest parking lot there (i believe it is the farthest from the coaster on the map) at 10:00. I will be there by 9:40 or so. I will let you guys know if there are any updates on mustangforums.com about it.

Ditto on the 101 being a parking lot no matter the time of year, I'll think about it.
