Default Pinto's At Knottsberry

Hello Group,
My 1st Post here!
I was at knottsberry. My 3rd year in a row...
I was one of the "STINKIN PINTO'S"
I live in Illinois and have been at the Fabulous Fords in a Pinto.
2006 and 2008 I drove the Pinto, 2007 I trailered a Pinto and brought my entire family to California to enjoy the show....
This year I had the Red 1972 Pinto wagon W/ surfboards.
I drove this all original "Factory Paint" 58,000 mile Pinto 4600 miles round trip. Now I have 63421 miles on it.
Other than having to re-set the points, I had no real issues with my trip. 2.0L 4 speed.
You Califonia Guys and Gals, Have the best show and the nicest Cars in the world!!!
There is NOTHING like it here in the midwest.....
Hope to see you all next year.. If there is any OIL left?

You drive all that way for this show? If you do kudos to you. My parents had a Pinto like that once.

Hey Jim293,
Thank you for the PROPS!
We had 34 Pintos at Fab Fords this year!!
35 if you count the Pinto that the Police were riding..
2008 was the first year for a Pinto class.
Heck, there are NO Pintos around here and I can go to a BIG show 3000+ cars and never see another...

I did not realize that this was the first year for pintos. But now that you have said that I never seen them there till this year. I always thought it was open to all ford products. That show is amazing to go to.

Pintony,

Good for you for driving your Pinto all the way to the show and back! And glad to hear you had a great time, too!

Last year (2007) was actually the first year for a Pinto class, and there were about 29 pre-registered. Being on the planning committee, I do remember we had one family coming from Tulsa, Oklahoma, but they trailored it -- which, when you think about it, is probably a little more comfortable.

Great turnout of Pintos -- we're glad to have you guys on board!

Hello Jim D,
Yes Dave and Cindy followed me towing their Pinto all the way from Tulsa Ok. in 2007.
They were 1/2 day behind the hole trip.
But they fiunally got up early on thursday and passed us.
They were about 30 miles ahead in kingman so I put the hammer down on my E350 W/ Pinto on trailer and caught them just before the California border.
WE cruzed across the California state line at the same time!!!!!! TOO COOL!!!
STILL,,,,,, Not as much fun as driving my Pinto.
My son and I drove in 2006 a turbo 2.0 1972 Purple Pinto..
Here is a Photo of me in my lime green 72 Pinto in 2007 at Carlisle Pensylvania.
I'm building a Sprint Pinto. Here is the link you you want to take a look at my progress???
