New to cali (exhaust suggestions)

I just moved to CA recently (burbank) and was wanting to change the exhaust on my 2000 gt but i know there are smog checks here that i'll still have to pass...any suggestions on what i can do and still pass smog? im pretty sure i'll have to keep the cats but i was looking and some slp loudmouth resonators with a mid pipe......would that be alright...open for suggestions just lemme know. thanks

ask your local law enforcement officials.

i know ca is janked. pretty much anything but stock is frowned upon.

ca is branched
they have their own oil supply, own electrical grid, own gas wells, ect ect. its like they are a diff country.

or just go to the e check place and ask whats approved.

or get something thats marked as *50 state legal*

but i did loose a court case because they said mine were illegal, i brought my box that said 50 state legal, they slapped and evidence sticke on it said guilty slammed the hammer....

Still have to keep the cats. Any muffler should be fine. This is probably the worst state for that type of thing.

so i asked an officer today about exhaust and he said i cant do anything that anything louder then stock is illegal..

then the best part! he handed me my speeding ticket and walked off

heres what ive found out thru courts cops and law classes.

1 cops are a$$ holes here and they really dont know jack about the laws for cars. the illegal noise level where i am at is the same level as a jet but ive have gotten tickets for my V6 f150 for being to loud.

the midlegnth headers should be fine most places wont give you a problem just have cats on your car thats when they fail you. as far as the exhaust tone of sound being to loud you have to see what your areas decible level is set to if you know what it is and yours is under that it should be fine but know what it is so if you do get a ticket throw it in there face

like i said i know in my area its the same level as a jet engine

the biggest reasons people get pulled over for exhaust is
sitting at lights throwing revs and driving like a jacka$$

The exhaust wont change your emissions on your car as long as you dont touch the cats.
