There is a few reasons why they want us in "new" cars, one higher registration fees, higher sales taxes, and all cars in CA that are within 6 model years pay an extra fee on their registration that goes to "alternative fuel research" whats funny is my 1969 MINI gets the same mileage as a Smart car, costs less, and if I put a cat and injection on it would be just as clean.
