Ahhhhh...schweet! Sounds like that's just one more Mustang book I need to add to my collection. After reading about it at musclecarplanet.com, your 70 Boss sounds like it's a collector's dream with matching #'s and all the original papers. What a find! That's really cool, man!
Yeah, I'm planning to be there at Knott's in April cuz I should DEFINITELY have my Mystichrome by then! I hope to be telling everyone that I've had it since the new year and how much I love cruisin' around in it!
Haha, I think my clock's busted...stupid time isn't ticking...haha!!!

I built a late model, well it was a late model, 18 years old now. Bought it with 8,000 miles on it in 87 and drove it everyday for 10 years. Then I did this http://www.badassrides.com/markstang1.htm to it in 97/98.
Only drive it to Shows now, check it out. Make sure to see all 3/4 pages.

Geez Mark, I'm jealous! Haha...2 sweet rides! Awesome, love what you've done to the 86. Definitely a good choice of appearance mods: the 87-93 front/rear ends are the best and cleanest looking out of that generation. I would've done the same. That whole engine setup is INSANE!!! And its so clean, you can eat off of it. Have you ever taken that car to the track? 1/4 ET? Dyno? Nice man, real nice!
Yeah, I have a memory to share. It was the summer of 89, and I was 10 (still just a tad underaged to be driving...haha). My parents and I took a road trip up to Sequoia, Yosemite, and Redwood Nat'l Parks. Guess what our rental was? An 89 Mustang LX 5.0L convertible! I think this was when I fell in love with convertible cars, and especially since it was also a Mustang too!!! I sat in the front passenger seat the whole trip, while Mom and Dad took turns driving or sitting in the tiny back seat. The 5.0 sounded so mean as we carved our way through the mtns. I still remember the sounds it made as it echoed through the rock-walled canyons...
So now, when I get my Mystichrome, I plan to revisit those places just so I can drive those roads in a REAL car and hear those awesome moans, growls, and roars once again!!!

Hey Mark ever think about uploading some of those photos of your Mustangs to your AFM Member Rides gallery. Would make it real easy for our members and other viewers to see your car as well as post their comments.

Aaron- missed your post somehow. Those are great memories, I bet it was beautiful. Sounds like you've got cool folks.
I've run both cars on a Chassi Dyno, but never run the 1/8 or 1/4. Plan to next Summer at the Strip in Fontana. Missed the few nights they had this year. You can run the 1/4 there for about $10 bucks a pass. Probably be more next year.
The 5.0 puts out 235 rwhp @ 5,700 and I forget the torque, I'd have to pull the file. I think it was around 220 lbft. Guessing on the RPM's too.
The BOSS laid down 326 rwhp @ 5,4000 rpm and 318 lbft. of torque. Those numbers I remember. It was awesome.

Hey Scott,
Thanks for the welcome! I see you're also in LB. We're gonna have to meet sometime...when Twister finally confirms a gtg at the Fudruckers cuz I see you have both an 89 and a 92. Awesome! I'm sure your cars will bring back those memories of that summer. Also, I see your 92 is a special edition. What was the special edition for?

I don't think the 5.0 dyno runs went over 4,500 rpm now that I think about it. Now I have to find that file.
Hey Mark,
Next year, let's both take our cars to Fontana. Yeah, it was $10 this past year, but hopefully the price will stay the same. It's $10 (unlimited runs) at Irwindale on Thursday nights, but that's a 1/8 mile strip.
The BOSS sounds like it has some serious power there! But the 5.0, are you sure about that? The stock 5.0 from 86 had 200 hp @ 4000 (don't know about the torque). The stock 5.0 from 87-88 had 225 hp and 300 lb/ft torque. But your 5.0 is modified, so shouldn't it have more power than that?
At any rate, BOTH of your cars are soooo awesome!!! :thumbsup

SCHWEEEET!!! I don't know if I've said this already, but I think black muscle cars look real studly. And I guess that's why 26.8% of all 03 coupes and 33.0% of all 03 verts were black! Nice, real nice!
Okay dude, it's a deal. When I get my Cobra, we'll race...haha! Of course, only after I've broken it in.

I see that the OCMC meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of every month, and they're actually right down the street from where I go to school (Cal State Fullerton). So, I'm definitely planning on being there for the December meeting. Lookin' forward to it! And maybe by the Jan. or Feb. meeting, I should have my Cobra by then!
:thumbsup
