Default Fab. Fords Forever Update... Knott's Show.

Well, things are moving along for this great show. They have recived over 800 applications so far. From that only about 250 are for Mustangs. What is up guys, this is the 40th for the Mustang we need to have a lot more cars there. They are going to have a special t-shirt just for us Mustang folks.

So, get your applications in soon.. we want more Mustangs at the show, then all other Fords put together.

I have three in the show

Jesse's 90 with fresh paint and engine, my dad's 88 Police Interceptor, and with any luck the twins will be there.

I have already gotten my conformation from both the hotel and Fab Fords. We are there!!!! :thumbsup

Well, besides being kicked out last year for playing a movie (007 i beleave) I dont think ill be going. They stick all us mustangs in the corner as if we dont mean much. Im tired of the last 3 years ive attended being stuck away from the show. While i may go it pisses me off the new mustangs are kicked to the back. We need to take a stand at these car shows. Every time they clasify the older mustangs first in the trophy awards and the ******* always leave during our awards kicking up dust with a HUGE lack of disrespect. I dont care for older mustangs and i still sit throught there awards. Just because our car's dont have and inch of rust doesnt mean were last. I beleave late model mustangs made up nearly 50% of the show last year. Ill think it over a few times before I get up at 3:30 and chuck out $30 of my money.

You really want to know? I'll tell you.

I escourted you out last year. You were asked to turn down your audio system (whatever it was) and you refused. Clearly states on the flyer you signed that there is to be no loud playing of stereos/dvd systems at the show. Clearly states this. You wanted everybody to know how "cool" you are by blasting the volume as to the point where people parked around you were complaining. You wouldn't turn it down, so you were asked to leave. I wouldn't talk too much about disrespect if I were you & I do believe your money was even refunded.

We do rotate the Mustang body styles around in the paking lot best as possible from year to year. I've had both Early & Late model Mustangs at Knott's for the past 11 years and they are never parked in the same spot/area of the parking lot from year to year. Might be close sometimes, but never in the same spot.

With 900+ Mustangs and 1800+ vehicles total, we do the best we can.
I'd hope you can attend this years event and respect the couple rules there are and have a good time like everybody else.

Very well handled.

I am one of those that are very tired of the disrespect that those with stereos and such give to their fellow show participants. I also dislike the fools that insist on starting and revving their engines all day long

Well, thats where you were wrong. First of all i wasnt blasting my stereo. Perhaps you misstaken me for the thugs behind me two cars down that was playing some gangster rap b/s. I know it may mean nothing to you but in order to not kill my battery I never turn it loud at a car show to perserve the batterys and for the courtesy of others around me. Heck the older couple behind me was actually watching the video. Reguardless you are right, I was in the wrong for breaking your rules. I figured if you could walk 5 feet from my car and barely hear it, it was ok. As for where I wasnt wrong, again not your problem but I think you should know, my shop worked on my car until 2am that morning and after I went home and detailed it until 5am when I left for the show. Like a lot of others, I pulled an all nighter to get my car finished for the show. So when you got of your golf cart and started screaming at me my patients were shallow. I beleave in respect entirely. You could have ask me politley to turn it down instead of yelling at me. I would never jepordize being thrown out over playing a movie for others to watch. After all you dont even give out trophys so theres no points to obtain. It wasnt a big deal. At any rate it all worked out for the best. My music box was gone, I got three magazine deals on the way out and won 1st place at another show I went to after yours. So no harm no foul. But as the placement of the cars goes, maby you mix up the mustangs over on the side, yes i agree with that, but why do we have to be on the side??? Why cant we be out front? Id really love an anwser to that one? oh and one more question....why is it the newer mustangs have a 10 year bracket??? Theres two different body styles, and yet you give older mustangs a class for every year? Something doesnt seam fair. This goes on all year with every show. If the counsel didnt notice alot of people dropped out of shows last year. I noticed cause I attend most every show and counts were down at most shows. The later body mustang people would like this to change. We help pay for the shows to happen too. But at anyrate I thank you for the welcome back and if i deciede to return ill be sure to have headphones for people wishing to hear the movie, I hope that would be ok?

I was riding shot gun in the cart when your money was paid back to you at the gate. I screamed at nobody, I was checking out the Tits & Ass next to your car having her picture taken. Whatever the caes, it's old news, right?

What do you mean by out front? Do you mean where all the trucks and older cars go? It's a matter of number of parking spots. There are more spots on the south side and we always have more Mustangs than anything else so that's why Mustangs are always on that side.

As you mentioned, no awards at KBF. It's just a big display, get together. Yes they give out those two memorial awards to something, but that's it. We just try and group the "like" cars together as best as possible. There are so many body styles now-a-days and it's not going to get any eaiser with the new body style coming out this year.

Hope you make it this year, 40th Anniversary you know. You & your car are an asset to the hobby, just "Turn It Down"

Peace/Out

Just to add to what Mark said, they assign parking based on how many cars are at the show. If there were more Mustangs, then we would get the big lot. You noticed that I didn't say front, the council does not refer to the parking lots as front and back.

The people in charge of parking for the show try to do what they think is best for the masses, they want people to come back. One more thing, the person that heads up the council drives a late model Mustang. It should be a fun day, and they will have a special show t-shirt just for us Mustang people.

Forgot to add, if you are going to attend you better hurry.. they have over 1300 cars entered so far.

Well Ron you make a valid point, but if you noticed that abadtb2 said that the mustang make up 900+ of the 1,800 cars in the show. Wouldnt that mean that the Mustangs should be in the front? Its just one little think that urks me about the Mustang show circuit. In addition can someone please tell me why late model mustangs are classified for 10 years of cars in one class. I mean I can see 94-98 and 99-04. But to group 10 years together isnt fair. But the early mustangs get a different class for almost every year. oh oh wait they have a different style window opps i forgot. Trust me the shows that see this problem (names not mentioned) will have the better turn outs. People are sick of it. Not just me I hear throughout the circuit this complain. To me is just plain discrimination. Enough of my bitchin and to those of you out there lets have a great year as it promisses to be the best year yet!!!

Ok lets see.. We need to have over 1000 mustangs to claim the big lot at Knott's. That is just the way it was put to me, and this year they were expecting to have the Mustangs over there. They are expecting a ton of Stangs for the 40th. So lets keep the registration coming so we can get that lot.

I really don't know what to say about the car classes at most car shows. They break down the years based on body style. Guess most clubs can't see any difference between a 98 and 99. I know there is a big difference, but I know some don't. Most clubs will break out classes based of pre-registration, and that would be a good place to split that classes if enough cars entered. Remember this would have to be pre-reg, and would have to have at least 4 to split them out. Real good idea though.

I know what your feeling, this is not a new subject for car shows. I know some Fox body guys that feel the same as you. All Fox body Mustangs get put into the same group, and all the Mustang IIs get thrown in with them. Now that is a big difference in cars.

let me get out of here now, this is getting way to long for me.
