Default Dyno tuning, where to go?

I'm looking to get my son's 90 Dyno tuned. We have done all the mechanicals now it's time to go into the CPU.

Are there any shops in California anybody recommends? I want a good shop not just a well known shop that has been plastered all over the mags.

Tony,

Check out Swanson Performance in Torrance, California. Owner is Danny Swanson who has been specializing in Mustang dyno tuning for years. Danny owns and races a fox body Mustang and definately knows his stuff. I have spoken to many of his customers who are extremely pleased with his work. Have yet to meet anyone who says otherwise. Several weeks ago I took the time to drive by and drop into his shop. Very well put together and Danny's specialty is Mustang Tuning. His number is (310) 787-7800 or contact him by email at danny@swansonperformance.com.

Yeah I've heard of them too. I also heard a few bad things about them too, but you know how that sort of think goes.

I talked to Swanson on the phone. Told them what he had and what it is doing. They seem to think they could wring a few extra ponies out of Jesse's 90. It seems to be lean down low, but they said they would know more when it's on the dyno.

The chip is around $325.00 and $150.00hr dyno time. At $325.00 I'm thinking about a TwEEKer system instead and paying for dyno time. Dunno?

Tony,
I have been out to Bottle Blown, they seem to be ok. Went with a couple of clubs for a dyno day, and everyone had a great time. The guys that were running the dyno looked and talked like they knew what they were doing.

Don't know if this makes a difference, but, Bottle Blown have a above ground dyno. So they have to lift your car up to put it on the dyno. Swanson has their dyno bulit into the ground. Just something to think about.

Thanks Ron!

I found out last night a buddy of mine with a 428 Cougar went there. He had a great experience with them. He didn't recall if they could actually burn a chip though. I will have to give them a call.

Like I said before, may be get a TwEEKer and pay for the dyno time. They are a little closer to home.

Tony, sounds like a good idea but I still think there is good value in having it initially dyno tuned by a professinal tuner.

Oh, I agree!

I have someone that will help out and teach me. Well it's been awhile, but I think he will still help out. I hope! I'll be giving him a call Friday
