Going Drag racing July 9th

Looks like we have a few Mustangs heading to Famoso, Bakersfield for Friday nite Test-n-Tune July 9th. I will be trailering Jesse's 90 and he will be following with my Cobra. Jesse is after his 12 second run and I just want to see what the Cobra will do.

Well Jesse just missed his 12 second run. He was pretty upset. He was able to sqeeze a 13.07 outta his 90. Jesse drove the piss out of it, but the 90 wouldn't yeld to the 12 second run.

He learned alot Friday nite. Jesse finally got the burn-out down and was able to launch at 6300rpm, but it would just bog down off the line. Looks like we will need to drop to 3:73 gears. With the gearing in his "Z" World Class T5 (2.95 !st), we feel the 3:73 would be a better choice than the 3:55's. I feel 4:10 would be better, but he wants to be able to drive her daily.

So the gears go in this week and in two weeks we will again head to Famoso in search of a 12 second run.

Ok, the gears are in! Best set-up I have done to date! Everything went in just perfect :thumbsup

We are heading out Friday afternoon 07/23. There is a bunch of us going. Jesse's 90, my 94 Cobra, a S/C 01 GT, my friends brand new 04 Cobra (I hate this guy

), a couple of 96 Cobra's, another friends Dodge R/T Dakota pu.

Looks to be alot of fun! Come on out to Famoso! Jesse was able to get around 6 runs in last time. Much better then 2 or 3 at some other tracks!

This is just a little bit late!

Track temp was 110 deg! Jesse was able to get a 13.02. He was very upset until this local guy told him he needs to correct for track temp. Alt is only around 600ft above sea level so they left that alone. The two of them worked it out to around a 12.70 run! Not bad for a daily driver.

My 94 Cobra, bone stock except exhaust, ran 14.70's all night until I did a couple of 6k launches. We got her down to 14.3's. Corrected for temp put her into the 13.90's

We had a lot of fun! Jesse is changing his cam to one that will match his intake and heads better. We hope to head back for the last Test-n-Tune or maybe FFW!

Sounds like you guys had a great time. One of these days I will be able to fix up a car for racing. Good luck next time at the track.
