We have two completely different cars in one class. 94-04. It should be 94-95, 96-98, 99-04, then obviously a class for the Mach, Bullit, Saleen ect.
You know, if it where a judged show you would have a point, but it’s not. Correct me if I’m wrong. The only reason I can see in having “classes” is to get the “like” cars in one area.
FFF is one big-ass show. If people want to see a particular model, they will find you. Where is the front of the show? To me it’s just a parking lot. You are where you are

That is nonsense. The bodies are completely different between a 94 and a 04, just as they are on a 65 and 67. Yes, the suspension is “basically” the same on a 94-04, but there are differences. Same as the 65-67, they too are basically the same with some minor differences.

You have a point here, but on the same note it is “ALL FORDS”. The early model crowd needs to understand that. OK not all of them. A late model Mustang is every bit a Mustang as the early models. It’s called respect thy brothers

You may be getting tired, but with 100’s of both, obviously others do not. Show some respect, maybe you would get some back.
I love-um all! I go home tired to the bone! If there is something I want to see, then I go find it. Get over it!
BTW Ron,
Got my reg./Knott's tickets the other day! Looks like Lightning on it's way. It should be looking pretty good.

The only parts that a 65 and a 68 have in common (other than engines, transmissions and driveshafts) are grease caps, windshield, windshield weatherstrip, floor pans, and door lock knobs! you can not even use any of the lines other than fuel pump to carb! An SN 95 has the same roof for all years, same interrior...

well, I like to see all of the cars and I like variety, and I was offering constructive critism, saying that it would be nice not to lump 700 Mustangs together. I thought that I was showing respect by DEFENDING the Ford Car Club Council. I did not bash anyone here and I get bashed?

same here, I have not missed Knotts yet and I will not miss it for the world.
The point I tried to get across, is that for the judged shows why is there 20 different classes for 64-70 and two for Coupe and Conv late model? This is why attendance for all shows had fallen. The 94-98 should be separated from the 99-04. They are different cars. The whole body / engine is different. Ok so it shares the roof but for asthetics thats it.
FFF should show some fairness to the Mustangs and put them in the front of the show. We make up over 50% of the show, Council make it fair. Im personally tired of hearing the excuses. We deserve to be pushed to the front for once.
Imagine the revenue loss is NO Mustangs showed up....or at a Club show no late model Mustangs showed up. On a avg show there may be 350 cars. Half of that is late models and if late models didnt attend that club would be out over $6,000 in lost revenue for that show.
I think that most people that religiously attend these shows would like to see some fairness put into these shows. We help fund these shows too...
I understand your point of view about the classes at shows., the problem with Knott's is that it is not a normal show. The council wants to keep all the cars that are the same model as close together as they can so people don't have to walk all over the place to find that car.
I still don't get the idea that the Mustangs are some forgotten step child. The council knows how important the Mustang is, and most of the members on the council own Mustangs. Like I said before, the parking guys have a major chore trying to fit in almost 2000 cars into that parking lot. And I have never felt slighted because the Stangs were parked where they are. Most vistors coming to the show park across the street at Sears, and the first cars they see when coming in are Mustangs.
As far as a normal car show go. Most clubs establish classes based on how many cars attended the show the year before. If you have a lot of cars in a class you break out the class. I can tell that my club would love to have seperate classes for all the late model Stangs, but, we just don't get enough to make that happen. We have even combined early classes because we were not getting a lot attending the show.
I hope this helps some, I know that not everyone is always going to be happy about something, what can you do. Even before I joined the council I felt the did a very hard really well. Good luck, and I hope to see a lot of you at Knott's.

I understand what your saying about "Shows" and the classes, but to compare KBF to Club Hosted Shows is like comparing apples to oranges. Two completely different animals.
The reason the early cars at Club Shows get more classes is because each year has 3 different body styles AND the body styles changed every couple years.
Late models there are coupes & verts and the body styles stay the same for a longer period of time. Sometimes 4 or 5 years, or in the case of the Fox Bodies 7 years, twice.
We try our best to park like cars together and that's it. My God Man, you have no idea how hard that alone is to do at a gathering as large as Knott's. The reason all the Mustangs are where they are, like Ron said, is that's where they fit.
KBF, like I said, is a gathering. It's a day in the begining of the Summer for ALL FORD Enthusiasts & Clubs to come together and share ideas, their rides, have a good time, see old/make new friends, and put out Car Show Flyers to help support the Hobbie/Lifestyle.
If you don't like how KBF is put on, then by all means take your Saleen someplace else that day, maybe you can find that pedistal your looking for to park on? We have enough to deal with, and believe me, you won't be missed one bit. Otherwise, go with the flow and quit your bitchin'.

Excuses is all I hear. Sounds like your job is too hard. Its a simple logistics change. Instead of planning the older cars and the early Mustangs in the front you swap it. But again the older cars are catered to once again. Oh yea and this Memorial Trophy, whens the last time a late model car won that trophy?? Seams a little bias dont you think?
And to your RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL remarks about my car and its pedistal, you sir can kiss my ass. I never specified anything about my car in perticular. I just listen to my felow Mustangers and this is the coversation I hear year after year. I too feel this is a sham on us to be pushed to the side. Thats how ALOT of people feel not just myself. Its unreal you represent the Ford Council with the way you just talked to me. If I knew theyd care Id forward them your responce. But then again this is supposed to be an open forum to discuss views, ideas or just random talk.
P.S. Keep in mind that I do volunteer at the KBF show and have the last two years. So yes I to am there at 5:00am to help park cars. But im sure if I dont help this year im sure I wont be missed one bit. Try to have more class when you speak to people or did you never learn respect?

First of all, I am not on or have anything to do with the Council, never said I was or did.
Now, let me get this straight. Your asking for the early & late model Mustangs to be flopped, not the two parking lots themselves, correct? I thought you were talking about the latter which makes no sense.
I know for a fact that the Mustang Classes are mixed up from year to year and moved around as best as possible depending on registration. I also know that some classes are in the same place sometimes for a couple years. Just the way it is.
They don't want people cryin' like you & your "Fellow Mustangers", why would they? Why would one type car and their owners get more respect than another? That's just a silly thing to say. Fact is, no matter what's done, some one is going to
I'd like to thank you for showing up early to help park cars while you detail yours for the last two years. It's nice to have the help. Let's see...if you do that 8-9 more years you will have parked cars almost as long as I've worked the Gate, so I doubt I'll be kissing your ass.
As far as the Memorial Trophies go, they are awarded to the cars judged the best out of the Featured Cars for any given year. I believe this year it's the T-Birds 50th so it will be one of them. After you've been for a couple more years you'll know stuff like that. I know it's hard to keep up all the way in the back.

Like Scott said keep it on the topic, not making any personal attacks.
I believe the bottom line is going to be once again the Mustang will be parked in the same parking lot that they have been for the last 20 years. Not until we have enough Mustangs to fill the other side, will they change the area that the Mustangs are parked in. It is not a matter of catering to anyone on where the cars are parked.
You may think that it is easy just to move the Mustangs to the other side, but, it is not always that easy. Like I said before, we have 2000 cars to fit into the lot the best that we can.
And like Mark was saying.. the trophies are giving to the featured car at the Show. The people that award the trophies are only looking at the cars in the grass area to decide on a winner. And the council has no control over who they pick. Like I have said before, this is not a normal show. This is a display show, and everyone that enters the show is awarded something. In the past years there have been clocks, and plaques giving out. And I think everyone will enjoy this years award.

My arguement remains the same. My discussion was that all late model (fox body and newer, "Late Model") Mustang be moved to the oposite side. I will continue to question this until something is done about this discrimination.
Say what you want about me, but I dont care. I will be there enjoying the sun, spectators, and sexy women with my bad ass ride.
