Default NorCal Mustang owners! Call for new Autocrossers!

My friends and I compete in SCCA in Solo2, otherwise known as Auto-crossing. In this competition you compete in 15-18 events on Sundays around the San Francisco Bay Area over the year. The season starts around February and ends in September. Then there is a slush round that runs off season, only about 5-7 events. This is the most fun you can have driving your car legally. This is not on a track, we are not talking about high speeds. This is more about taking corners, and being a skilled driver. Cost for a membership is around $50 and each event will run you $35 this season. If you want to get more serious, then Competition tires are needed mounted on a spare set of wheels. That will run you around $1000 for new, and used you can pick up for $400. Each event runs most of the day on Sunday, with a common turn out around 200 people and another 200 bystanders.

The reason I suggested Mustang owners with stock rides is it qualifies you for F-Stock which will place you in our class. Camaros too. A stock class means you haven’t lowered your car, you haven’t put a cold air intake on your car etc. If you make mods to your car, it pushes you into the more competitive classes which I don’t recommend starting out in.

The reason for this post is our class, F-Stock is getting a bit light on competitors. We are now down to around four people. This makes it less competitive and not as much fun as it could be. I would like to ping everyone out there and encourage them to come by, see what it's all about. Borrow a helmet, go for a ride and see if you might want to get involved. At least come take a ride, you might even be able to catch a ride in a viper, or Factory 5 Cobra!

Here is the info you might find useful.

In Car Video of one of my runs: www.mrpepsi.com/auto/scca

Info on events in the Bay Area: www.sfrscca.org/content/view/4555/32/
Then click on Solo Events Calendar on the left. Look for Championship Events or Slush Events.

And of course find more info from me at solo2@mrpepsi.com

Thanks for your time, hope to hear from you soon!

Would you guys be happy with a 94 GT running with you? I'm interested. Only thing I've done is ditch the ugly side skirts. You know, weight savings

Let me know.

Of course, anyone is welcome, but its such a large distance to drive to the SFR region when the Sacramento Chapter is so close to you.

It's hard finding a stock mustang these days. What mods bump you out of f-stock? Just a K&N replacement filter bump you to the next class? Pullies? chip? Cat back? It's hard to find mustangs without some or all of these basic mods.
