Default Switching 17" to 18" Bullitts

I picked up a set of 18" OEM Polished Aluminum Bullitts, with tires,
to replace my 17" painted Bullitts. I assume that it should be a
easy swap. Is there anything I may need, or need to know? Like
spacers, stops, extra hardware, etc. I figure I may need to get
an alignment, with the new wheels. The new Bullitts have the
TPMS sensors in them. I figure I'll have to get them sync'd up
with my car's 'puter.

Any comments are appreciated.

I want to do the same swap. Where did you get your wheels?

The only thing that comes to mind other than TPMS is re-calibrating your speedometer if the total outside diameter of the new wheel/tire is different than that of the old.

ETA: Other than that, if the wheels you purchased were specifically designed for the 05-08 Mustang, you should not have any offset issues requiring spacers and such.

If you don't have a tuner you'll need to make a trip to Ford to adjust the tire revs/mile. Think they charge $50.

I picked the wheels up from a guy I know, who has an '07 vert. He
hung a set of 20" ers on it. So he sold me his Bullitts and tires for
$500. A nice price I think. The tires have 9/32 - 10/32s of thread
on them.

I checked the different tire sizes on a couple of tire comparator web-sites.
The speed difference is only .2 mph.

I'm kinda waiting until the weather warms up a little, to hang my
new Stang stuff on. I've got a set of louvers, a OEM GT-500 spoiler, and
the polished Bullitts ready to go.

I gotta order a Classic Chin spoiler, and I'll be all set.

Id watch the fronts for tire wear or go ahead and get a alignment. I took my wifes 18" polished bullits off last fall and put her 17s on for the winter....the 18" fronts had some wear on the inside of both tires...I will get it aligned soon when the 18 go back on.

I was going to say not to bother with adjusting the speedo, very close as is.

As far as the alignment, its not going to be effected by the wheel/tire combo your going to.

Simple swap, with the reprogramming of the sensors. And the dealer isn't the only one who can do this. Most tire shops have the technology now. Goodyear/Firestone/Discount.
