Default Shelby Razor Rims, 2007 Mustang GT

I recently purchased 20X9 Shelby Razor American racing rims 6" backspacing and 24mm offset, and have noticed what I think is a really stupid issue with them. For All who are concerned or if you have a 2007 Mustang GT with Eibach Pro Lowering kit as I do. Keep this in mind. I am having a problem with the back tires sticking out from the rear fenders. I am running Kuhmo 255/40ZR20 in the front which looks perfect and 275/35ZR20 in the rear. There is no resolution to this issue that I have been able to find. Reason being if you go with a 6.5" backspacing you run the risk of tires rubbing according to Shelby Performance Parts. I have called them and the mod shop next to them several times. The only thing they say you can do is run Pirelli PZeros which are 400+ per tire in 20" tires or run Nitto's 555 which is what they put on there cars according to them. Or run 255/35ZR20 all the way around. I have yet to be able to try this so I don't even no if this will solve my problem. There is no mention of this when you call for parts questions at Shelby performance parts. They just say that the 6" backspacing and the 24mm offset is stock and should work for the 07GT even when the car is lowered. If you have any questions or comments on this posting please let me know. If you have a resolution I would love to here from you.

You need a 40mm offset.
I have razors on 07 Shelby GT/SC that were widen to 10.5 Nitto Invos 295/35/20 on 10.5/20 for the rear and no rubbing issues.

Shelby swears that in extreme cornering I would end up with the rear tires rubbing on the inside of the fenders. It just scares me to put something on there they say wont work and then end up messing my car up. What are you running on the front.

I can tell you car was lowered from the picture. Or at least it looks like it was. How hard have you ran the car as far as cornering.

See thats what my problem is. Shelby parts and their mod shop next to them say that the 24mm is the correct offset for a lowered 07GT. It is freaking driving me crazy. The front looks great as you can see from the pitures on my profile but the back looks like crap.

I'll be in Vegas this weekend for Nascar, and I may be visiting the Shelby plant (hopefully ) I'll ask someone there if I go, since I'm planning on buying the chrome razors real soon and all of the shops I've talked to have insisted 40mm all around.... but if Shelby says something different, then that's another story.

Man if you get a defiant answer I will send you one of those real big cheesy smilies. It is freaking retarded if you call Shelby performance parts they till you the 24mm with 6" backspacing. It has become a nightmare for me. I can't believe the Shelby performance parts sight is giving wrong info and their mod shop.

This concerns me also. I just got razors for my car and I have the same problem. I just installed 18X9, 255/45/18s with BFG KDWs and it looks like the tires hang outside of the finder on back and if not for negative camber they would hang out in the front. It’s clear to me that when I hit a hard bump or take a hard corner they will rub. What can be done once installed?

Default razors

I sent you a PM.

My car is lowered FRRP 1 1/2".
The tires I am runing are an 1"taller and wider.
I made a template adding 2" to rim and had 3/4 to the top inside fender well so I went with 1.5" width to rim. Now I have 8" back spacing and yes I drive car hard both drags and curves.

I need some help with this too! How come Shelby says 24mm and American Racing says 40 mm?! Which one will work with stock as well as lowered 1 1/2 inches?

Both will work. 24 and 40MM is the offset which affects the back spacing. The 24MM offset has a shallower back spacing that causes the wheel to have a deeper dish and be further toward the outside of the wheel well. This gives more clearance for the suspension up front. I have had no rubbing issues with this set up. I think a wider tire than 255 would be better for 9" rims because the side wall on the KDWs I have are rounded. It seems that a lot of people use the 40MM offset with no problems but I think you can go with a wider tire up front with the 24MM.

Default They should have sold you 40mm offset Razors

As you are finding out the front will work but the rear will stick out to far. American Racing is the true manufacturer of these wheels they just got Carroll Shelby to endorse them. ARs 40mm recommendation is correct. 24mm is for 99-04 Mustangs, 40mm is for 05-up, both will fit 99-04. IF you solve the issue by using a narrow tire your wheels will look too Euro\tuner for a Mustang. Trust me I know, I got some 20" Razors off ebay for only $580 shipped but thanks to American Tire I wasted $1000 on some tires I hate. See my profile to see how stupid they look. American Tire insisted i get 245\30\20s. Later I foud out they recommend tires that have the same overall diameter as stock tires...so if you go up in wheel size they recommend you go down in profile. I wanted to run a 275\40\20 and it would have fit perfect. I see 275\40\20s on Mustang all over town. The only way to make your car look right is to buy the correct 40mm offset.

Default Why does Shelby put 24mm offset on 2005 and up Mustangs?

I see the point for both the 24mm and 40mm offset, but why then does Shelby (the ones who actually puts them on cars) only carry the 24 mm offset? They don't even carry the 40 m offset? Keep in mind I am adding the big brake package. It is my understanding there is an issue of the brakes and/or the suspension rubbing under hard cornering with the 40mm offset? They have the tire size I am thinking off getting 255/35 20 on all 4 Razor wheels (with 24mm offset) on the CS6 car in the Shelby Museum in Las Vegas. I believe this is the same setup Jason at Hillbanks put on his CS8 Mustang. It doesn't appear to stick out on the back with this size, does any one have this set up?

I hope I made the right choice, I order the 20" Shelby Razor (chrome) today with a 24mm offset.

I think that ur car looks great with that off set. seems like the +40 offset tuck the wheels in too much. I am thinking about getting the same +24 offset and same tires size 255 fr and 275 rr. I was hoping if you can tell me if you have had any rubbing issues with your car? I am lowered with eibach pro's as well. Thanks
