Default Would 245's in the back be too narrow?

I'm looking at a pair of Nitto DR's for the track. Pretty good deal going right now, but the problem is that they are 245/50/16. The 245 is the issue here. I'm planning on keeping my 20's up front when I go and just switch the rears. I'm running 255's up front. Will 245's cause handling issues? The primary plan is a set of 255/50/16 BFG's but these are just a potentially good deal that I wouldn't want to throw away (~$150 for both tires).

Thanks!

After you install the torque converter on your car the 245's will be useless.
I have some 245/40/ 18's for the track and can't launch like used to without wheel spin.
I personally am looking into some 295/45/17's MT for the track.
