You can get mostly any size you want..unless you wanna start going above 20's..what size do you want?

btw those numbers are measuring the height and the width...17x9= 17 inches in diameter and 9 inches wide

Wheel size is mostly preference but the bigger the wheels you go with the heavier they are, the heavier they are the more they will hurt acceleration and gas mileage.

Aluminum 17x9's would be fine for your car.

Actually I think the Mach 1 wheels are 17x8. Which is actually better for both of your applications.

Your bolt patern is 5 X 4.5, and any wheels that will fit a GT/Cobra/Mach will also fit your car.

As long as its not a fox body car, 79-93, they have 4 lug and won't fit your car. Yours will fit any 94-04 wheels.

Not trying to make this a "buy my stuff" response but just to let you know I have 4 stock 16 inch rims off of my 96GT with Fuzion tires on them (probably about 1,000 miles on the tires). They're just gathering dust in my storage unit. I don't know what shipping would be but Iwouldn't ask anything but a nominal amount over shipping to get rid of them. Just an option if you like the look of those rims.

Otherwise, as stated before, you can put whatever rims fit on the GTs from 94-98 and they'll look good. There are quite a few options for you out there. I would suggest maybe save up and atleast go with 17 inch rims. There are many places online where you can get full packages with mounted and balanced tires that aren't too expensive. Going from 15 inch to 17 inch will completely transform the look of your car and make you happy.

Good luck!

Hey Ian,

If you're curious ( I kind of am as well) I can see how much shipping would be. I'm really just thinking like $100 plus shipping. That's for 4 stock 16x7 1996 GT rims with Bridgestone Fuzion 245/50 16's. The stock tire size for the 1996 is 225/55 16's. The wider tire fits the wheel well nicely and looks more like what the 245/45 17's did as the optional wheel package of that year. They were taken off last year when I got my new 18's. They're in pretty darn good shape save for one rim that has a scratch. I can snap pics if you want to show more detail. Actually you can at least see what they look like in my gallery pics. They're on the red droptop.

No worries either way just pm me if you want.

Cheers!

yeah send me some pics if you could, and if you find out the cost of shipping too. don't rush it, it's going to be a week or two before i can even start to think about buying them... bi-monthly checks...
