Default 2005 Mustang GT... What tires for 18x10 wheel?

Sorry guys, I know this answer is in here somewhere but can't find it.

What size tire do I put on a 18x10 (Deep Dish Bullitt)? American Muscle tells me 275/40, tire rack tells me 285/40, and I think STLWagon says he uses 295/40(45?). I just want a wheel/tire combo that maintains the original profile so I don't have to mess with reprogramming my computer (unless someone has a really juicy reason for me to do so on my dd)

I appreciate the help fellas!

To keep as close to the stock (235-55-17) tire height (27.18") as possible, you'd want to run a 295-40-18 (27.29") or a 265-45-18 (27.39"). A 275-40-18 is a shorter tire (26.66")

I accidentally found the guy that builds the new Boss mustangs in Pensacola and he said I should use 285 something, don't remember whether it was 40 or 45. I'll trust you on this one stlwagon, but if you're wrong ....

haha, just kidding man, thanks for the help!

hi stlwagon,
are you sure that there is 265-45-18 on the market? could find any.
I was thinking to widen my tires a bit without changing the wider rims ( I have original upgraded mustang 06 GT chrome 18" x 8.5). I would think that 275-45 18 ( plenty in the market ) is pushing it right?

BTW, i read everthing you write- learning tons. I'am i huge fan! :-)
