Default 2005 Mustang, Wheel/Tire Combo

Well I just got my 2005 Stang, she already had a K&N CAI and flow masters on it. So I'm thinking that Wheels and Tires come next. My Car is Torch Red and I plan on putting on some black, 12 inch wide (2) stripes and the CDC Chin Spoiler. It's not a Daily Driver and I do enjoy taking it to car shows, so I want it looking good :-D

My Question is: Would 18 or 19 inch black wheels look good with the black stripes and what kind of tires should Irun? I'm looking for a mix of performance and looks, and the tires do not need to perform well in the rain, seeing that my car never see's the rain.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Justin

I like five spoke wheels my self but thats jus me.. 20's would look good seeing that its gonna b a show car. As far as tires Nitto 555's r a very good tire. They cum in street and drag radials..

With the 20's, I'm going get poor ride quality as well as way more weight, then say 18's, correct? So maybe some deep dish 18's in the back might be flashy enough, yet still give me some performace. I'm thinking about the 555r in the Dot Drags. How do the perform in the coners thou, Am I better with the street 555's for that?

Thanks for the Imput,
Justin

I wouldn't suggest the drag radials for the corners. Though nitto has a tire called the NT 01 that's pretty much designed strictly for corners. Also, I saw a 2007 Shelby GT with 18" American Racing Razors. It looked pretty sweet!!!

Instead of the American Racing Razor wheels, I meant the Foose Nitrous wheels. My bad!

Those look sick, what do you think about the America Racing Rouges, either the black or chrome ones, 18's on Torch Red?

Also, is going 10 inches on a street tire bad for conering, even if its not a DR?

Those wheels look pretty sweet too!!! If you can stuff a 10" wide rim and make it tuck nice, then more power to you. I don't really know how much room you have in the wheel well to get that wide of a wheel in there without having to mini tub it in the rear.

I'm not really sure either, Id like to put 10's in the rear, i know it was possible on the 99-04's no problems but not really sure with the 197's....I would think 10 inches would not be a big deal. Yeah I definitely think I’m going with the Black 18 Inch Rouges 10 in the back and 8.5 in the front.

Does anyone know if having a wider wheel in the back will damper your handling in the corners or in autoX?
