Default 2001 Mustang Cobra wheels

I have a 2003 Premium GT with what I believe are 2001 Cobra wheels, I know there not chrome (just polished) but I was wondering what the best stuff to clean them I was going to use some Mothers Aluminum polish but I was worried that it would damage the clear coat ( if there is a clear coat on the wheels that is). Thanks

The Mothers won't harm the clearcoat. It'd be best when used to really get in there and polish them up, for normal cleaning you could use a non ammonia window cleaner, ammonia will cause polished aluminum to haze over. I'd save the Mothers for when you need actual polishing. I have polished aluminum wheels myself and the Mothers makes them look like chrome. For normal cleaning I use Perfect Glass on them.

With the clear coat on them the Mothers polish will not do much. I just use detail spray on mine and they come out great.

Didn't know they put a factory clear coat on Aluminum. You wouldn't be able to "Polish" aluminum to a chrome look if it had a clear coat
