245/40/17 vs 235/55/17 Looking to get some new rubber for the mustang. I was going to get 20' razor 5's but decided against due to the pot holes around here.
Just need some input on putting 245/50/17 or 255/50/17 on the car.
A little wider maybe. I think the 245's would be a hair shorter wich would lower the gear ratio.
Cant find to much on the 05 + gt w/ these tires.
Thanks.

I would not recommend the G-force tires from BF goodrich, my dad has them on his 07 Shelby, they have great tractioon on dry pavement but their tread life is poor. Go with some pirellis, or potenzas, though they are both expensive they have excellent tread life and awesome dry traction. I personally have nitto semi slicks.

1st off before not recommending tires, make sure you know which exact tire you are not recommending.
BFG makes 3 Gforce tires in that size
G-FRC SSPORT AS
G-FORCE SPORT ZR
G-FRC TA KDW ZR
I am assuming you are talking about the Shelby GT since the GT500 comes with goodyears.
The ones on the Shelby GT and GT's with the 18" option actually fair well on treadlife for the cars they are on. Its all how you drive with them and maintain them.
Also the Same BFG thats OE on the Shelby is not offered in the mentioned 255/45/17

Wow kinda harsh
. Maybe he was talking about the BFG T/A KDWS which they offer in that size which you did not mention!

Maybe a little harsh, but its the truth. How can you recommend or not recommend something when you dont know what you're recommending?
I did not mention those because they are a discontinued tire in that size.
