New tires already 2008 Mustang GT ....Any Recommendations?
I brought my 08 GT in yesterday to get an oil change, tire rotation, and get the tires balanced and my local Ford dealership. When I got it back and took it on the highway, at 65+ the car starts shaking pretty bad. Took it in this morning and they said I need an alignment so i'm getting that done and that the front two tires were severly wore down on the inner side, and that they were basically shot the guy said. The vehicle only has 6,000 miles on it so i'm guessing this better be covered by Ford in the warranty being they never aligned it when i bought it and they put the tires on. I have some BFGoodrich (details in my signature), and the dealership in my town doesn't carry those same ones. So i'm wondering what some other good tires might be that I should get. Hopefully Ford does pay for it to get some tires of equal or greater value for this hassle. I don't know much about tires, but i'm not planning on taking it to the track anytime soon and I just do the casual driving to work but I do like to take it out and really open it up once in awhile and have some fun in it. So any recommendations would be a great help.
I wouldn't mind having a little wider tire. I've read up and it seems these gforce tires are pretty good so I'm thinkin when they put these ones on when i bought it the tires weren't all brand new. Seems to me thats pretty quick for a tire to wear down.
i'll look into those. I wasn't sure with the rims i have if I could even go wider. Heard back and they did do an alignment when i bought it, but i don't see how those 2 tires could wear out that fast in 6,000 miles. Something doesn't seem right...
Called a tire shop and they said the tires they put on my vehicle do only get 6-10k miles on em. So either i'll be getting new tires a lot, or i'll have to look into getting a different set

Your running G-Force KDW's? That is an ultra agressive tire. But they still have a 400 treadware rating, which is at the high end of the high performancnce tires. I am not seeing anything else in that size that has a lot better treadware rating. I think the highest was 420.
I see you were running 235's, but you may be able to go bigger if you have a wider rim. Do you know how wide your rim is?
All you need to do is figure out what the max diameter tire is that will fit on your rim per manufacturers recomendadtions and search Discount Tire or Tire Rack and it will pull up all the tires in the size you are looking for. Each one will list it's treadwear rating. You now know how long a 400 treadwear rated tire lasts. You can pick you next set with a higher rating than a 400 if you want to get more miles out of them. But, the more treadwear you get the less "performance" you will have in the tire.

When I had purchased my car and picked out the rims, they just said they were gonna get some good tires to go with them, didn't say they were only gonna last 6k miles. I figured they knew what they were doing. I'm guessing I'll have to call the Dealership where i bought it to find out the width on the rims, unless I can find them online.
I have the same tires and just replaced at 32000 miles.Would have more miles but cut one on side wall and one front wore off inside edge.Replaced with same and they said alignment was off.Got realigned and now drives like new again.

I am going to suggest to have the alignment rechecked. With the drop you have I bet your camber is out, and causing the excessive inside edge wear. The dealer probably only adjusted the toe settings on the alignment. The least expensive way to adjust the camber on these cars is with cam bolts, which are pretty cheap. But you may pay extra labor on the alignment.
Uneven wear on any tire after 6000 miles is a sign of alignment issues.
"Or abusive driving"
When i brought it in yesterday they did an alignment for me. Drove it all around today and everything went smooth. But i'm still worried that the tire wear situation might not go away. So you think getting Cam Bolts should still be in the near future to get?
