Question Best All Weather Tires for the Pacific NW?

Hey guys.

It's that time for me to swap out my near balding tires. I did the mistake of buying a set of Toyo Proxes meant for summer driving a couple years go.

Needless to say, worn tread on summer tires + Pacific Northwest Winter = Mario kart spin outs.

Yeah, it's happened.

Instead of driving on eggshells whenever it rains, I want a set of tires that are secure and great in the rain.

So I'm turning to you all knowing experienced gurus to throw in your two cents with what brand and model I should go with.

I'd like to mention I am a starving college student, so the cheaper the better, but I'm willing to pay a little bit more if the tires are proven to be champs in wet weather.

Future Modifications: Direct Mentos Diet Coke Injection System. And some cheetos. (actually, the cheetos aren't for the car, they just sounded good.)

Hey man I live in washington too its good to see another member who is close by. I decided to go with Sumitomo HTR-Z's. They are very cheap from tirerack.com I have 315-35-17's in back and 255-40-17's in front. Now they definitely aren't the best tires for rain but I have never had problems with uncontrolable spinning out. They do well in dry and I think it's a fair trade off. Now if you want great all weather tires look into the eagle F1 GS-D3's They are much more expensive but from what i've heard they are amazing. You can pm me if you need any more information about my sumitomo's.

I had falken azenis, st115's I think, they held up well, and until the tread got real bad they did well in the rain, I live in south florida, so I know about rain. They did ok in the dry, but were good in the rain, VERY quiet, and lasted longer than I expected. I'm going with nitto 555's next time, tho, the falken's don't have enough dry traction for the power I'm putting out.
