Default Will 2006 Mustang 17x8's fit on my 1972 Mustang?

Howdy
I got a set of 2006 "Bullitt" wheels (the gray 5 spokes) and tires (235/55ZR17) for free and now I'm eyeing the '72. She's got slightly non-stock 14x7 205/70r14 on her now. I blazed through all 22 pages of the wheel and tire forum before asking and, thanks to dodgestang's chart, http://www.dodgestang.com/emAlbum/al...de%2071-73.pdf
I think they'll fit. However, I need to know for sure. Has anyone run this combo on their 71-73? I see alot of Ebay'ers offer adapters and/or spacers to take up some of the offset. Are they necessary? Pros/cons? Pictures, too, would help. As soon as I can, I'm going to dig her out of her corner of the garage and try on her new shoes but I was looking for info. Thanks again guys and gals.

They may fit just fine.U won't know until u try them.It may take some spacers or adapter.Spacers may be require if the inside of rim or tire rubs against any thing.Adapter may be require if your bolt pattern is different. My boss has a 68 fastback & is putting a set of 2000 model rims he is having to use spacers + adapters to get the rims to fit his car.

Quick update - the rear's bolt on fine but sit in too far. I'm thinking a set of 1" spacers.
The front's rub on the upper control arm and the tie rod end, so again, a set of 1" spacers.
Just comparison shopping now to find a good set I can afford.
